The Staging Post returns to Canberra as part of a national tour. After a whirlwind three months screening the film in cinemas, universities, schools, boardrooms, and to refugee communities, The Staging Post is getting a national cinema release.

The film follows two Afghan Hazara refugees, Muzafar and Khadim. Stuck in Indonesia after Australia ‘stopped the boats’ and facing many years in limbo, they built a community and started the school which inspired a refugee education revolution.

A real-life, real-time, multi-platform documentary. The Staging Post is about friendship, connection and the power of community.

Screenings in the national tour will be attended by Muzafar and Director Jolyon Hoff, joined via skype by Khadim, Tahira, Nagina, and the teachers and kids from the Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre.

The Canberra screening is at Dendy Cinemas at 7pm on Saturday 25 November. You can purchase tickets here (half-price for refugees/asylum seekers) and RSVP on Facebook – invite your friends!
