After sold out premiere screenings in Sydney and Melbourne, The Staging Post is now coming to Canberra!
The Staging Post follows Muzafar and Khadim, two Afghan Hazara refugees, stuck in Indonesia after Australia ‘stopped the boats’. Facing many years in limbo they created a community, started the Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre (CRLC) which led to a refugee education revolution in Indonesia, subsequently changing UN refugee policy.
A film about friendship, connection and the power of community.
The film will be introduced by Professor Bill Maley, Professor of Diplomacy at the Asia-Pacific College of Diplomacy. Following the film there will be a Q&A with Director Jolyon Hoff, the Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre Co Founder Muzafar Ali and a skype session with teachers and students from the Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre, all of whom are currently living in Indonesia as refugees.
