Public Teach-In: Campaigning for Migrant and Refugee Rights in a New Age of Racism

Room G052, Haydon Allen Building, ANU

This public teach-in, involving two sessions, will explore how racism has become so vital to the far right as a basis for building their support and how we can strengthen the movement against the rise of racism.

Session 1: 12-1.15pm – A New Dark Age? The appeal of the right-wing on race and refugees. Speaker – John Minns
Lunch – 1.15-2pm
Session 2: 2-3pm – Building an activist campaign – some things we’ve learnt along the way. Panel discussion.

Racism does not distinguish between refugees and migrants. Our campaign for refugee rights is inextricably linked to building support for migrants and opposing racism.
