Big Walk 4 Refugees: UC Joins the Journey for Justice

Join the UC Refugee Action Club and the UC Running Club for a morning of solidarity, movement, and community as part of the Big Walk 4 Refugees—a nationwide virtual event inspired by the courageous journeys of asylum seekers across Australia.

Now in its second year, the Big Walk honours individuals like Neil Para, who walked 1,000 km from Ballarat to Sydney in 2023, and groups of women who trekked to Canberra to highlight the plight of over 10,000 refugees still living in limbo without permanent visas.

Together, we’re walking virtually around the country—16,650 km—from Hobart to Canberra, to show our commitment to justice and compassion for refugees, including those still held in offshore detention on Manus Island, Nauru, PNG, Christmas Island, and Indonesia.
