This event is organised mainly by Save the Children.

The situation for people on Manus Island and Nauru is untenable and must end. We’re calling on the PM to make a significant announcement at the Leaders Summit on Refugees in New York in September, and offer a pathway for those currently on Manus and Nauru to be resettled safely and offered hope. Time to Close the camps and bring them here!

Help us put refugees on the Prime Minister’s agenda during this first fortnight of the new Parliament!

Location: Federation Mall, outside Parliament House, Canberra

Who:  Save the Children, and probably Oxfam, PLAN, Amnesty

When: 8am-10am Wednesday 14 September (setup from 6am!)

  • Setup from 6am (we need lots of hands on deck to set up the at least 250 figures!)

  • Press conference – 8am

  • Photo opportunity – 8:30am

  • Finish – 10am

You are welcome to just come and help with setup, or join for the press moment. Just let us know when you’re planning to come atphoebe.howe@amnesty.org.au
