Now Australian citizens, they are finally able to rebuild their lives and contribute to the community.

Refugee Week (19-25 June) is an annual event that celebrates the rich contribution that refugees make in their adopted countries. It’s also an important time for the refugee campaign to highlight the plight of those to whom Australia denies this opportunity – people who came to us seeking protection but were instead met with brutal repression, xenophobic scapegoating, and imprisonment.

RAC will also be holding a Solidarity Concert during Refugee Week, on Friday 24 June. For more information please visit: https://www.facebook.com/events/1782712395292327/

RAC’s Refugee Week events are held in solidarity with refugees on Manus Island and Nauru, who struggle daily against the Australian Government’s attempt to break both their bodies and their spirits.
