The Guardian Australia recently published 2,116 leaked incident reports from Australia’s detention centre on Nauru. The reports detail assaults, sexual abuse, self-harm attempts, child abuse and effects stemming from squalid living conditions. More than half involve children. It has also emerged that Wilson’s Security staff systematically downgraded the seriousness of many of these reports. They show yet again why the asylum seekers and refugees held on Nauru and on Manus Island must be brought to Australia immediately.
