Rainbow RAC SpringOut Event ‘LGBTIQ Refugees and their lives in Canberra’ – Saturday 24 November 4pm

As part of Canberra’s LGBTIQA+ SpringOUT Pride Festival, Rainbow RAC has organised a special event: LGBTIQ REFUGEES AND THEIR LIVES IN CANBERRA. This will be at MUSE in Kingston, at 4pm on Saturday 24th November. Speakers

Tina Dixson: Co founder of the Queer Sisterhood Project, a peer run support group for queer refugee women in Australia. Her PhD focusses on the lived experience of queer women refugees viewed through the lense of trauma theory and the concept of empowerment.

Lix Huang-Hughes: Lawyer currently representing Commonwealth Games asylum seekers in Canberra – a gay man, a lesbian, a bisexual man and two LGBT allies
